Dance Styles

 

Jazz

Commercial Jazz adopts a high energy, funky and vibrant form most frequently seen in music videos and on television. This dance style is an Aussie Dance Camp favourite amongst many of the students.

​

Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms, essential in developing the support of the core muscles and the coordination utilised in most dance forms. This style can be seen at the Opera House in many famous ballets including The Nutcracker, Giselle and Coppelia.

​

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is an energetic, versatile and inclusive dance form that captivates audiences with its combination of sharp and fluid movements. This style is increasing popularity and tends to be a favourite amongst students.

Creative Choreography

This class invites the students to explore their imagination and create their own personal styles as they construct a dance unique to them.

​

Musical Theatre

This class combines the disciplines of singing, dancing and acting. At Aussie Dance Camp, a showstopper from a famous musical will be chosen to recreate and perform. Examples of musical numbers can be seen in musicals such as Fame, The Wizard of Oz, Wicked, High School Musical, A Chorus Line along with many others.

Acro/Gymnastics

Students will develop their flexibility, strength, coordination and body control through acquiring gymnastics-based skills in an immersive way.

​

Body Conditioning and Technique

This class enables students to develop fundamental movements like jumps and turns where correct posture and alignment is needed to execute such moves. Their centre of balance, agility and ability to move more gracefully will progress. Students will also learn about the importance of taking good care of their bodies, health and mind so they can perform at their very best.
